Ways To Help Earthquake and Tsunami Victims in Japan

In the early stages of a huge disaster of this kind, we want to help those in need as soon as possible. 

Below are several great ways to help the earthquake and tsunami victims.

International Red Cross

The Japanese Red Cross Society has extraordinary disaster response capabilities, and has mobilized eleven teams to heavily-damaged communities to provide assessments and first aid and prepare to supply emotional support and relief. The American Red Cross is in communication through its global partners with the Pacific nations that sustained the most damage, and stands ready to provide assistance as needed.

Shelter Box
A Shelter Box response team is mobilizing to provide temporary shelter.

What does this organization provide?
They respond immediately to disaster by delivering boxes of aid to those most in need. Each box supplies an extended family of 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while the are displaced or homeless.
There will be thousands or more such victims in Japan.

Convoy of Hope
This Christian charity based in Springfield, Mo had a disaster response team working through the night. They have a team member in Hawaii and have establish connections with their in-country partners. Click here to read about their efforts.
