Why is prayer in American under attack? Do Americans seem increasingly intolerant of prayer? Prayer has generally been considered to be a kind, considerate act. In my lifetime most people, even those who do not believe in Jesus, nor in the effectiveness of prayer would agree with this. So what is prayer shaming?
Prayer shaming is a reaction prayer, especially in times of tragedy. It was sparked in late 2015.
Freedom to pray in school or in public is disappearing. Prayer is discriminated against. This is so sad and unnecessary. Prayer is all about love.
Prayer is an act of petition to God who is Almighty. Last time I checked no human is all powerful. Only God can fulfill a prayer request.
We do not pray to ourselves. We pray and cry out to God, who has the power heal, to do justice and give us true peace.
In many instances God also calls us to action. When we can do more than prayer we should.
“This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.– Zechariah 7:9
When we pray for others it is meant to be a blessing. That prayer request is in God’s hands. God hears every sincere prayer Psalm 34:15, but He does not answer all of them according to our personal desires.
He has a master plan and a greater purpose. God knows how everything plays out in the future. We must trust God even when we cannot see the outcome or understand.
We are called to always pray and never give up Luke 18:1
I will never stop praying! I will pray for you. I will pray the United States of America. Until my last breath I will celebrate and praise God, our Abba father.
