I was curious to know the Top 10 most searched for Bible Verses. Here are the results according to the Bible Gateway Blog.
Bible Gateway is a great resource and one of my favorite sites for quickly looking up a Bible Verse.
How did they determine the TOP 10 list?
According to their website, they “reviewed the behavior of some of the 8 million visitors who stop by the site each month, many of them chasing results provided by Google.”
- Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
- Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
- Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
- Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
- Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
- Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
- Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
- Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,who have been called according to his purpose.”

Four verses come from the Old Testament -Genesis, Jeremiah and two from Proverbs. Two are from the Gospels -John and Matthew and four are from the Letter of Paul -Romans and Philippians.

Notice the #1 Bible verse on both lists is John 3:16.
