“Good morning God. This is your day. I am your child. Show me your way.” These are the lyrics to a sweet Christian song called Good Morning God. (see the Lyrics below). Many mornings when our boys were young, I would sing this song to wake up each child (Alexander and Dylan). It was such a tender and beautiful moment. God’s love filled my heart and we started our day with Him.
Below, for your reflection, I have paired the lyrics with Bible verses.
The words are so simple yet they are full of meaning.
Here is our good morning tradition:
With Good Morning as the theme, I opened the curtains in each sons bedroom to wake him up.
The LIGHT of Gods Love would shine into their room and I would also say; “Good morning flowers. Good morning trees. Good morning birds and Good morning bees”
I would alway hug each precious boy, often giving him a “scratch back” (their word for scratching their backs).
This sweet tradition started the day with JOY for each of us!
Joyful for God, Life, Love, Faith, Family and our Hope in Christ!
You should try this . Or start your own tradition.
The boys are older now, yet most mornings I still sing the Good Morning God song! I love it! Its my way of saying “Hello” to God”
God fills my heart with His Joy. I sing it to God as a prayer, either aloud and or in my mind! It connects me with Him.
I feel the comforting peace of God without exception.
Remember GOD IS LOVE

I just googled this song. We sang it at church camp before breakfast years ago. This morning I remembered the start of it and wanted to know all the lyrics. Thank you for posting it.

Hi L’Tanya. Thank you so much for sending me this message. It is so encouraging. I apologize for not responding sooner. I have been distracted with a health issue my husband is having. I still sing this song often when I wake up- it is simple, sweet truth. One of our sons was recently married. We are hoping for grandchildren and this will be one of the first songs I regularly sing to them.
