Praising and thanking God is our privilege and joy.
Did you know that God created us to praise him and bring Him glory?
Glory in this context is defined as “adoring praise or worshipful thanksgiving”-
(source dictionary.com)
“everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory
whom I formed and made” -Isaiah 43:7
How would you describe yourself ?
Living thankfully?
Or do you generally have an attitude of indifference?
Or perhaps you live a life so busy you don’t even think of being thankful?
I can be guilty of these!
Perhaps you are someone who criticizes.
Do you often complain? Maybe you don’t even notice if you complain.
Test yourself– take 1 day and try to count how many times you complain to yourself or to others. You may be surprised.
I was.
Watch for my upcoming post entitled “A Complaint Free World”.
Our loving God commands us to praise him continually.
Wow! It is easier to know this is His desire than to actually be able to fulfill it.
I am no expert but I do know that the purposeful and consistent practice
of being grateful to God in all things requires each of us, Christian or not,
to make a choice.
For God, His will and His way for our life or for yourself with your will and your way!
Heart, mind, and soul.
Living with an attitude of thankfulness is God’s desire for us. The Bible tells us so.
Next Sunday at our church we will be hearing a sermon on this topic.
It will be the first part of a Series called Thanks Living. I will post a link to each sermon when it s available online.
UPDATE January 2012-
Here is the link to the 2 sermons. Start with the 11/27/11 Sermon.
